It’s official – Mediaworks have announced that Drew and Shannon Live is being superseded by FOUR Live, which revolves around the same premise – although the name does pose the question of who will be hosting the new show. If recent events are anything to go by, Drew is out of the picture – but will Shannon stay, or is a new team being decided upon?
All will be revealed when the show returns to FOUR on Monday February 13.
This is going to be interesting!
Definitely!
I don’t believe that Mediaworks would fire Drew based on a minor offense made on Twitter. They hired Paul Henry for god’s sake.
I expect to see Drew and Shannon back in some capacity and the set changed yet again – in my opinion they have failed miserably both times! So hopefully third time’s the charm.
What happened to the good old days of a full-blown studio, complete with different stations for various activities! Surely with the growth in advertising revenue they could allocate a higher budget for this!
My mistake – it looks like they have fired Drew after all or he’s quit the show. The ‘About’ page on FOUR Live’s website states:
FOUR Live is a topical entertainment show, airing weekday afternoons on FOUR. It’s a daily wrap of entertainment and the latest in pop culture, hosted by Shannon Ryan. Get film, TV, music, fashion and gaming news and reviews all in a 90-minute show.
So we’re back to single-hosting duty! That’s a shame, I’m going to miss the banter between the two original hosts – it’s simply way less fun. The big question is: will the ratings suffer because of Drew’s absence?
I thought the Drew & Shannon Live title was just terrible, and had anticipated the name change to FOUR Live for brand awareness against U Live. So at least there’s one good thing to come out of this giant shake-up.
